World Rugby Player of the Year Malcolm Marx is the latest injury worry for the Springboks.
Netwerk24 reports that the 31-year-old hooker was forced to leave the field at half-time of the Kubota Spears’ 26-24 Japan Rugby League One semi-final victory against the Saitama Wild Knights on Sunday with a biceps muscle injury.
The severity of the injury has not yet been confirmed, leaving both the Spears and the Springboks anxiously awaiting further medical assessments.
Marx’s setback comes at a concerning time for the Bok management, with several frontline players already sidelined ahead of the 2026 campaign.
