The Wallabies look set to take on the international season without one of their first-choice halfbacks.
Jake Gordon is likely to miss the entire Test season after suffering a suspected Achilles tendon injury in a Super Rugby clash on Saturday.
The Wallabies scrumhalf went down late in the first half of the Waratahs’ 31-25 defeat to the Western Force in Perth.

Gordon appeared to injure himself after taking a quick tap, with his right leg giving way as he accelerated.
Waratahs coach Dan McKellar fears the injury could be serious.
“It’s a question mark around an Achilles there, so shattered for Jake,” McKellar said.
“No one cares about New South Wales and the Waratahs more than Jake. For him to do it in the last game of the season before the Test season is about to begin, it’s disappointing.”
Former Wallabies scrumhalf Nic White, who spoke to Gordon at half-time, echoed those concerns.
“Unfortunately, it sounds like he’s done his Achilles,” White said during the broadcast.
“He’s pretty gutted.”
The timing could hardly be worse for Australia, with the Wallabies set to open their international campaign against Ireland on 4 July before facing France and Italy in the opening weeks of the Nations Championship.
Gordon has been coach Joe Schmidt’s preferred starting scrumhalf, and his absence would leave Tate McDermott and Ryan Lonergan as the leading contenders to fill the No 9 jersey.
